I was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. I went to school in Kenya for four years and in Eswatini for six. For the past four years, I’ve called Gainesville and Copenhagen home. I’ve lived in different places for most of my life, primarily for school, so being in between places is where I feel most comfortable. I love my African identity. I am very passionate about all things African. I am always looking for book and essay recommendations on Pan-Africanism, decoloniality and identity. 

 

I like to crochet, paint, and recently, I’ve gotten into air-dry clay. I love making graphics on Canva and designing posters, which I’ve been fortunate enough to do as a job (you can read more about that later). I also like puzzles. I’m a perpetual hobby-hopper, so if you think I haven’t tried it yet, know it's on my list. 

 

I came to the University of Florida for the weather, and despite the past three or four hurricanes, it has been great. I would pick it again every single time. I’ve learned so much. I've grown in ways I didn’t know were possible, and I wouldn’t change this Gator-chomping experience for anything else.

 

At the College of Journalism and Communications, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of some amazing projects, often in supporting roles and behind the scenes, which is where I like to be. These experiences have solidified my passion for communications. From balancing a gimbal on the set of Knight Talks to visiting an archaeological site in Levy County to take photos for a story in the Atrium Magazine, I am continuously challenged and inspired.
